"We teach what isn't taught." - Dennis Prager

This semester of Prager University is presented by:  Dave Rubin

"[M]uch of the left is no longer progressive, but regressive...I can no longer call myself a progressive.  I don't really call myself a Democrat either.  I'm a classical liberal.  A free thinker.  And as much as I don't like to admit it, defending my liberal values has suddenly become a conservative position." – D.R.

"Today's progressivism has become a faux moral movement, hurling charges of racism, bigotry,  xenophobia, homophobia,  Islamophobia, and a slew of other meaningless buzzwords at anyone they disagree with." - D.R.

The National Nightmare - 1 Month In :)

If you listen to, read, or watch the national media, or believe what is on social media, you would think the the United States was suffering through a national nightmare and the world is coming to an end:  Women and children were being devoured by terrible Trumpian monsters, immigrants are being thrown into the sea by the Hitlerites, the terrible orange-dragon is spewing so much fire he is adding to Global Warming, Vlad Putin is helping our hated leader - while at the same time our hated leader is starting World War III against Vlad and the Russians, the press is being locked up and tortured in modern-day concentration camps and gulags, and on and on.

If you listen to the mainstream press or social media you KNOW - not think - KNOW, our president has not gotten a single thing done - because he is incompetent and flat out sucks...While at the same time he has gotten tons of terrible things done - because he is an evil genius.

But most Americans aren't morons - thankfully!  There are plenty of morons who 100% buy into the insanity they are being fed, however.

Keeping his promises, indeed!

Trump has made mistakes in his first month in office, but how could he not?  He has never been a politician or in government in his life...Anyone who expected him to enter office sailing smoothly wasn't basing their expectations on reality.  Also, what president before him didn't make mistakes?  Didn't have a hard time getting some cabinet members passed?  Didn't overreach?

Well, who other than El Perfecto God of All Presidents Barack Obama, of course.

That said, anyone who doesn't think he is a quick learner is equally nuts.  He will get better as time goes by, which will be fantastic if he can improve on what he has actually gotten done in his first month.

NOT WHAT YOU ARE TOLD HE HAS DONE - you know, being Hitler, killing people, starting World War III, etc., etc., etc.

Despite all the hysteria you’re seeing from the Left, the mainstream media and from some Republicans who still at this late date can’t get over the fact that he won the primaries, Trump has actually had a dynamite first month in office. Trump may not fare so well if you judge him on his tweeting habits or his willingness to play nice with the media, but the agenda he’s pursued has been a conservative dream.

While I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of stories based on anonymous leaks and wild speculation, how many people have taken stock of what Trump’s actually been doing? Not what he’s tweeting, not what he might do some day, but what he’s actually done. There may be a lot more that needs doing, but if you’re a conservative, the proper reaction to his agenda is “so far, so good.”

10) Freezing all Federal Hiring Outside of the Military
9) Pulling Support for the Obama Drive to Force Women to Allow Men in Their Bathrooms
8) Reinstating The Mexico City Policy
7) Ordered Federal Agencies To Cut Two Regulations For Every New One They Propose
6) Putting Out An Executive Order Asking The DOJ And Homeland Security to Withhold “Federal Funds, Except As Mandated By Law” From Sanctuary Cities
5) Approving The Dakota Access Pipeline And The Keystone Pipeline
4) Killing The Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Deal:
3) Undermining Obamacare
2) Ordering The Construction Of The Border Wall
1) Selecting Neil Gorsuch For The Supreme Court

This list should include the outstanding men and women he has put in his cabinet, particularly Tillerson (State), General Mattis (Defense), Sessions (Attorney General), Mnuchen (Treasury), General Kelley (Homeland Defense)...Equally impressive are two of his closest hands:  Pence (Vice Prez) and General McMaster (National Security Adviser).

IMPRESSIVE, INDEED!  Especially for someone who is constantly reported as being surrounded by bozos and getting nothing done - or worse, being Hitler, killing people, starting WWIII, etc.

And lets never forget, Donald Trump is the guy who stopped this Frankensteinian Lefty creature from being Prez.

For that alone, President Trump deserves massive kudos...The fact that after one month on the job he's actually gotten significant things he promised to do done is a plus.

George Washington's Birthday

George Washington is the 'Irreplaceable Man' in American history. It's doubtful the Colonials could have survived the Revolutionary War without his generalship, and even more unlikely the Constitution would have survived as a federal system without Washington's presidential leadership. Equally impressive is the fact he didn't allow himself to become 'King of America' (which he could have had he wished, and would have been welcomed by many Americans). This is the ultimate testament to him as a man and a believer in America...As such, he should not only be recognized as the 'father of his country,' but also as the 'greatest American.'

I make note of America's holidays, but you should notice President's Day wasn't memorialized here - it was mocked, because I do not recognize it as a legitimate holiday...The birthdays of Washington and Lincoln should never have been obliterated, creating a single holiday for all of America's presidents.

Washington and Lincoln were exceptional (one founded and one saved the nation), and should be honored as such with their own days...The many average presidents we've had shouldn't be allowed to stand next to the greats, nor be honored equally with them.

"His integrity was most pure, his justice the most inflexible I have ever known, no motives of interest or consanguinity, of friendship or hatred, being able to bias his decision. He was indeed, in every sense of the word, a wise, a good, and a great man." - Thomas Jefferson
Until 1971, both February 12 and February 22 were observed as federal public holidays to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and George Washington (February 22).

In 1971 President Richard Nixon proclaimed one single federal public holiday, President's Day, to be observed on the third Monday of February, honoring all past president of the United States of America.
George Washington, born February 22, 1732 in Virginia, was a natural leader, instrumental in creating a united nation out of a conglomeration of struggling colonies and territories. The first president of the United States of America is affectionately honored as "the father of his country."

Shortly after his twenty-second birthday, Washington served in the army of King George III of England and was put in command of a troop of soldiers. The French were settling on British soil and turning the local Indians against the British colonists. Later, in the war against the French and Indians, Washington commanded large troops of soldiers and showed courage that inspired all his soldiers.

At this time, King George III of England dominated the thirteen colonies along the east coast and much of the surrounding territories. Colonists began to want their freedom, and live with a set of rules based on democracy, not under the rule of a faraway king. The Boston Tea Party of 1773, a colonial rebellion against taxes, helped to spark the American Revolution. Washington led and encouraged his inexperienced armies against the British forces for eight years until the colonies won their independence.

Great George Washington Speeches

"First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen, he was second to none in humble and enduring scenes of private life. Pious, just, humane, temperate, and sincere; uniform, dignified, and commanding; his example was as edifying to all around him as were the effects of that example lasting...The purity of his private charter gave effulgence to his public virtues." - John Marshall, official eulogy of George Washington, delivered by Richard Henry Lee, 26 December 1799

President's Day

In PeroVille, President's Day isn't recognized as a holiday worth celebrating - because there is no reasonable cause to celebrate the many below-average to average presidents we've had...Guys like J.Q. Adams, James Buchanan, Chester Arthur, Woodrow Wilson, Warren Harding, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, both Bush's, Clinton and Obama.

It used to be that Presidents Washington and Lincoln had their birthday's celebrated as holidays - the two greatest presidents in U.S. history.  The man who formed the nation and the man who saved the nation.

Replacing the holidays celebrating these two great presidents - BY NAME - with the generic holiday of President's Day is a disgrace, and sad, because it robs all Americans of their history.

That said, there is one important thing to celebrate on this President's Day.

PRAGER UNIVERSITY: Why Good Teachers Want School Choice

"Give us five-minutes and we’ll give you a semester." - Dennis Prager

This semester of Prager University is presented by:  Rebecca Friedrichs

"[I]n the most comprehensive study to date, students in school choice programs saw their reading and math scores improve by 27% and 15% respectively...But for millions of families...school choice is not a choice.  And there's one reason why:  Teacher's Unions.– R.F.

"If you believe, like me and millions of others, that parents, not the government, should decide where their children go to school, and that competition will make all schools better, then join the school choice movement." – R.F.

Happy Valentines Day

For those who like the short history lessons I usually post on holidays, visit this link: Happy Valentines Day

John Lennon used to tease Paul McCartney for writing and singing 'silly little love songs,' but McCartney knew he had a winning formula for a simple reason:  Love songs speak to everyone; regardless of what type of music a person has a preference for.

In the past couple years there have been some fantastic love songs.  In my opinion the two best were 'All of Me' by John Legend and 'When I Was Your Man' by Bruno Mars...In my opinion, again, there is a perfect love song for this Valentine's Day - a song I think is even better than the past two.

As far as my special Valentine goes, I hope I'm blessed enough to 'love her till I'm 70' - and any amount of time I have after that.

Abraham Lincoln's Birthday

George Washington is the 'Irreplaceable Man' in American history, but Abraham Lincoln is a close second on the list of greatest and most important Americans.

I make note of America's great holidays, but you will notice President's Day isn't memorialized here, because I don't recognize it...The birthdays of Washington and Lincoln should never have been obliterated, creating a single holiday for all of America's presidents.

Lincoln and Washington were exceptional, and should be honored as such with their own days. The many average presidents we've had shouldn't be allowed to stand next to the greats, and in no way should they be honored equally with America's greatest leaders.
Until 1971, both February 12 and February 22 were observed as federal public holidays to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and George Washington (February 22).

In 1971 President Richard Nixon proclaimed one single federal public holiday, Presidents' Day, to be observed on the third Monday of February, honoring all past presidents of the United States of America.
Short Abraham Lincoln Bio

Of all the presidents in the history of the United State, Abraham Lincoln is probably the one that Americans remember the best and with deepest affection. His childhood in the frontier of Indiana set the course for his character and motivation later in life. He brought a new honesty and integrity to the White House. He would always be remembered as "honest Abe." Most of all, he is associated with the final abolition of slavery. Lincoln became a virtual symbol of the American dream whereby an ordinary person from humble beginnings could reach the pinnacle of society as president of the country.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in Kentucky, and spent the first seven years of his life there. They were difficult years in which Thomas Lincoln, Abe's father, tried to make a living as a carpenter and farmer. The Lincolns moved from farm to farm around Kentucky, until 1816, when the family left to settle in Indiana. The United States was still young, and the Midwest was a wild, unsettled frontier. They stopped in the middle of a forest in Spencer County, Indiana. Neighbors were few and far away, and the family lived in a three-sided shelter until Abe's father cleared enough land and built a log cabin.
